Merry Christmas to me…

This is the excerpt for your very first post.

Today I was very excited to take the next step in my journey and set up my very own website. As with anything, I did run into problems and I know that it will take time to get the look and feel that I want, so for now it is a work in progress and I ask that you bear with me. Shoot, I may even, at some point scrape this look and go for a completely different look as I learn the ins and outs of customizing this site.

On to my blog, we live in a day and age of bloggers and I decided it was well past time to join the rest of the world. It’s so very easy to sit back and read about what others are doing and saying online as we sit at home, protected and safe from the rest of the world. What’s difficult is being willing to put yourself out there and take a chance on doing something that you love. This year, I decided to do just that, as I published my very first book.  Talk about scary, and then there was the fear of failure that I continue to battle. So today I gave a lot of thought about what success means to me. For me, success comes in small packages. I’m grateful for every person that read and reviewed Kindred earlier this year, and though the audience so far has been small, I view that as a success. Success isn’t measured in monetary gain. Rather, it’s measured in personal growth, and this year I spread my wings and flew. As I continue my journey, honing my new favorite past time, I encourage you to join me. Chosen: Book 2 is well on its way with over 90K words written. I hope to have it available by late February 2017.

So this year, my Christmas gift to myself has been to realize that its not about worrying about success but rather acknowledging that I did something that I never thought would be possible. I published my first book. I hope that this Christmas some of you will decide to do something you have always wanted to do but have always been hesitate to do so, put yourself out there.  Honestly, it will only help you grow into the person you were always meant to be. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
